PMYM was my first book. I wrote it in 2000, because I really wanted to see if the nexus of postmodern philosophy and Christian theology that had been so helpful to me would also be helpful to others, and I figured that getting those ideas out into the public square would be a great test as to whether they were more broadly helpful. One of the fun aspects of this book is that several prominent leaders in youth ministry and postmodern church — from Mike Yaconelli to Mark Driscoll — commented in the margins of the book. PMYM continues to be used on many syllabi and to provoke conversations across the world of youth ministry.
