2Cor 11:3 -NKJV
I think you have become as Eve–deceived.
The only manifesto of HOPE is Christ and Him alone.
Your minds appear to be “corrupted from the simplicity of Christ.”(NKJV) Do you really think you should try to “improve” on what God’s message is? I don’t think He needs any improving or help from the Emergent Movement or postmodern thinking.God’s Word is ageless and eternal-we do not need to fit Him into our modern day intellectual
thoughts. It doesn’t have to be complicated. Why do you think the Emergent Movement is so necessary? I think maybe Satan is blinding you and mixing you up. We are not supposed to add to God’s word or adjust the meaning He intended.
It is simple–Christ is THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE!
What more do we need? I saw Christ change my husband radically- no intellectual anything—just faith, trusting, and finally “getting it”! Now he is passionate and understands Christ is the absolute truth. No need for intellectualizing it and making it “culturally relevant”.
Pure Simplicity- Love the Lord, serve Him and He does the rest if you truly submit to Him daily. Not a chore, not burdensome, a JOY!
( I am not trying to mean or hurtful to you , I just wish you would really understand about the simplicity of the Gospel and we don’t need to mess with it).
I’ll be praying for you.
In Him,
Nancy
I’m with you Nancy. It is the power of a Christ-obsessed, Gospel-centered message that changed my life. The Emergent movement is merely a reactionary one. When your whole philosophy is built on “let’s do it different than the other guys,” it will either fail or move into gross apostasy.
If you build a movement with the unashamed proclamation (not conversation) of the life-changing, Christ-centered Gospel as the foundation, then you have a “movement” that will last and be relevant…to God.
But, then again…they only file away what we say into their “Fundamentalist” junk drawer.
